  1. Strange Automatic Logout/Login behaviour.

    Hi,

I have a laptop running Windows 10. There are two users accounts, mine and a minimal guest account in case I ever lock my self out of my account. The 'minimal' account is probably used about once year if that.

Twice now I have left my laptop logged in as me, with whatever I was running just left. The laptop locks after ten minutes.

When I have come back, yesterday after about five hours, I have found the the laptop is logged in as the 'minimal' account.

If I sign out and sign back in as myself, my programs are still running but there's always something else running as well.

For example, yesterday there were 4 instances of FileZilla running, which I didn't start.

No has access to my laptop nor my house, so I can't understand what is going on.

I have virus scanned it etc. and can't find anything else wrong.

It's as if the laptop literally has a mind of it's own.

    Puzzled.

    Regards,

    Graham.

    :)

    Cortana strange behaviours

    Hello Gabriel,

We need to do further investigation on your concern so that we can identify why Cortana is not working properly:

    • Have you recently made any change/updates prior to this issue?
    • Did you try to login to a different user account to check if it is the same?

In the meantime, you can try these steps to isolate the issue:

As an initial recommendation, we suggest that you perform the troubleshooting steps listed in this

    article

  3. RoboForm Automatic Logout

No matter what setting I give this

    Strange Automatic Logout/Login behaviour. [IMG]

The actual timeout does not change from the 120 minute default. This is the current configuration I'm experimenting with and it doesn't change either.

A little history: Initially RoboForm was a great little tool. Then when MS Store included it for Edge I started having difficulties. All minor and just more of a nuisance. Worked on some sites, not others, work this time and not next. That kind of thing. Then this started after I had to uninstall and reinstall the app after it completely quit working.

I've since done some experimenting and have found it works flawlessly 100% of the time with Google Chrome. Except for the Automatic Logout time. Other than give up on Edge, anybody got a suggestion to resolve this timeout problem?

As always I do appreciate Ten Forums help.

    Strange Automatic Logout/Login behaviour.

Windows 7 - automatic force logout the user after specific session time (even if user is active)

    Hi,

I am looking for a way to force logout a user after 1 hour of computer usage. This will need to happen even if user is active.

It will be good to have some kind of message pop up on screen 5 minutes before the logout to indicate the user to save the details.

    This is NOT

    • idle time log out
    • Auto screen saver after idle time.
User should be able to login again after entering the password....... and the 1 hour session cycle repeats.

logical steps may be as below.

    1. trigger = user login
    2. counter time - time "system time now + 60 minutes"
    3. trigger 1 = (system clock time = counter time - 5 min)
    4. Action - system message ="you have 5 minutes to save your work. Please save your work to avoid losing it"
    5. trigger 2 = (system clock time = counter time )
    6. Action - Execute logout.exe
I am not programmer and hence the steps mentioned above may not be accurate.

Please help either by guiding me to some of existing ready solutions available in market or a simple code (like time out counter).

    Thanks
