    I have Windows 10 Home.

I’ve not been able to update v1909 since last spring. I get a BSOD a few hours in the process maybe 3.5 - 4hours.

Last week a patch I installed on Norton 360 my antivirusprogram caused my computer to become unresponsive killed my OS. The mostlikely explanation is an incompatibility with my Windows version. It’s easierto change AV program than change OS so I uninstalled Norton 360. I’ve been running the Windows antivirus since last week.Have been experiencing other major problems: computer freezing up completelyunrespnsive twice since last week, for no apparent reason.

I read that in spring 2021 users will be forcibly updated fromv1909.

    Where does that leave me?

The only advice I’ve seen so far is scattergun advice - trythis, try that.

But no one has a frigging clue what the exact problem is. It’svery easy to suggest stuff when you’re getting paid. Meanwhile I have to wait afew hours each time to see if each suggested modification works. Downtime means not earning. And since the new symptoms last week, I’ve becoming wary of accepting largejobs.

I’d like some targeted advice for a change - I don’t mind spendingan entire weekend following instructions if I know I will have a smooth-runningPC at the end of it.

What are you going to do about it Microsoft?

    :)

    Update problems

    Hi TiffanyBowers,

Thank you for posting to the Microsoft Community. I understand your Lumia 610 keeps getting stuck on step 6 of the update that you're trying to install. I can provide you a few steps to try in an effort to resolve the update issue.

There are a couple of different steps on a support page located at
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2484484
that we'll want to try. I would suggest the steps for stuck in download mode, stuck at OEM splash screen, and error not listed on this page.

Before performing the suggested reset under the steps for error not listed, I would first suggest trying a soft reset. If you're able to remove the battery, leaving it out of the phone for a few minutes will soft reset the phone. Another option for performing
a soft reset would be to hold the power and volume down buttons until the phone has restarted completely.

Please let us know if any of these suggestions are helpful to your update issue.

    Regards,

  3. WINDOWS 10 V1909 BSOD

I successfully updated to WIN 10 V1909 and have been using it with out problems for some time. Today, I got a BSOD, auto rebooted successfully. Looked at the reliability monitor and found the reboot critical event were a hardware error followed by an
unexpectant shutdown. This was after two WINDOWS updates were installed :

    9NMPJ99VJBWV- Microsoft Your Phone

    9NBLGGH537C2-Microsoft XBoxGame Overlay

Saved MINIDUMP file to my OneDrive public folder 012520-12031-01.dmp

    Any help would be appreciated.

Stuck on v1909,BSOD on updates, now other major problems

    BSOD- atikmpag.sys

This is most likely due to an installation/upgrade error with ATI driver's. I suggest doing DriveSweeper and the following:
    • Drivesweeper all drivers & in Safe Mode
    • Unistall all drivers that aren't used in DriveSweeper (CCC Profiler Updates, MSI AfterBurner, anything related to ATI that use's it's drivers.)
    • After you do this, the first thing you need to do is go into Device Manager and Unistall your ATI Drivers

Once your done, restart the PC and then try installing the latest drivers.

I had several issues with this in the past, but I overcame it with logical reasoning and whenever I have a driver issue, I just use these steps and I always overcome the problem.

    Best of luck! *Toast :toast:
