Windows 10: Disable "Blinking" Light When Powering Down Computer Into Sleep Mode

Hello.

So for the longest time ever, I customized a method to whenever I want to power down my computer and then start it back up again, it would reload everything that's already open. When I run this little custom "script", it enables Hibernate mode (where Windows creates an 8 GB hiberfil.sys file, taking 20 seconds or so, in the root of C:\, and the computer powers off). Then when I turn on the computer, it takes about 20 seconds to load up from the Hibernate state, and the hiberfil.sys file gets deleted once the computer reloads exactly where I left off, with all programs that are already open, which is really cool and convenient. I really love that little setup that I have, and the loading time doesn't bother me at all really.

But: I am aware that over a period of time, it is possible that an SSD drive may get damaged slowly whenever files are created and deleted and whatnot. So I looked online to see the method of setting the computer to go into Sleep mode. I found this:
"RUNDLL32.EXE powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState 0,1,0"
and tried it. The computer shuts off almost immediately (I am aware that it doesn't create a huge useless file on the drive, and everything is saved in the RAM), and once I turn it on, it loads up very quickly with everything that I left open. So this method is almost exactly like Hibernate, but more "efficient", obviously. My only issue is that once I put the computer to Sleep, the LED light on the Desktop case blinks every second or so. I sleep in the same room with the computer, and that blinking would obviously bother me so much when I want to sleep.

So I am asking for a method, within Windows, that I could set to when I put the computer to Sleep, it would power down, yet the LED light would turn off completely. And please, the suggestion of physically covering the LED light with some clothes or tape, is not a solution. I want an option that I can set within Windows which disables the blinking LED light.

Sleep Mode with no light blinking

It is a brand new pc, a Toshiba P25W-C2300-4K. Among other things, the Windows sleep mode is working strangely, or inconsistently. It does go into sleep mode as set with power light blinking. However, if you leave it sleep for hours, the light stop blinking,
then you have to press the power button to wake it. (I already set it such that any key stroke should wake it up). As usual, the computer manual does not say anything about this (and many other things) and I have searched up and down to find an answer but
in vain. Why can't Microsoft make anything simple and consistent such as this. Older version of Windows did not have this problem of PC "playing dead" with no indication of being ON while in sleep mode.

 

Power light blinking blue instead of solid orange when in sleep mode

I have a 10 year old HP Pavilion desktop that was just refurbished. When I put the computer in sleep mode, the power button now blinks blue, instead of solid orange, which is the way it used to be. I would like to change it back to solid orange when in sleep mode. Is there any way to correct this? Please help!

Please be advised that the issue that you face might be due to some of the Windows 10 related file going missing or corrupt. So, please follow the below steps to troubleshoot.

Step 1: Power Troubleshooter.

Please follow the below steps to troubleshoot:

a. Press windows key + X key.

b. Select control panel. In there, make the view : small icons.


c. Select troubleshooting.

d. Click system and security and run the power troubleshooter.

Step 2: Install acpi

Sometimes, there might be an issue with the drivers associated with power options getting corrupted so in this case you need to downloads the Advanced Power Control Interface Driver form the computer manufacturer’s site

Please download the APCI driver (Advanced Power Control Interface driver) from computer manufacturer site.

Also if the drivers for Win 10 aren't available then you may download the drivers for the previous versions of Windows, and install in Compatibility mode. To install the drivers in compatibility mode, please
follow the below steps:

  Right click the
  driver set up and select Properties.
  
• 
  Go to Compatibility tab, and in the
  compatibility mode, tick the Run this program in compatibility mode for: and select the windows version you want.
