  1. Computer micro-freezing when watching videos / GIFS online

    Hello all,

few days ago I started having this issue :

my computer constantly micro-freezes for small amount of time whenever I watch videos or GIFS online downloaded videos are without issues.

Most of the time I watch online videos on youtube and when I do, my entire system freezes randomly from 0.1s to 10 seconds - Cursor doesn't move, I can't hear sound and display is frozen.
I also use discord and I noticed that searching for gifs in the chat freezes my system also.

When I opened task manager to see whats going on and whenever this issue happens "System" jumps to 5-10% CPU usage.

However I have no issues when:

browsing sites, viewing images, listening to audiospotify, using various applications/programs or playing games.

    My computer specifications:

    OS - Windows 10 Pro 64 - Bit

    CPU - AMD Ryzen 3600XT
    GPU - NVIDIA Gefore GTX 1060 6GB
    RAM - HyperX Predator 16GB DDR4
    MB - MSI Tomahawk B550
    PSU - Seasonic 550W
Both HDD and SSD - system installed on SSD

    Things I tried:

Updating and checking on hardware drivers
    Testing internet speed
Trying different browsers edge, firefox - the issue persists
    Reinstalling Chrome
    Turning off extensions
    Deleting cookies, history and cache

Turning hardware acceleration off and on

It's really frustrating and I'm getting desperate, since I'm running out of ideas.

    Thank you for your help.

    :)

  2. Computer freezes when watching videos

    Hi all,

My computer freezes during youtube videos or even watching videos on random news sites.

It happens in Microsoft Edge as well as Google Chrome.

It happens using integrated graphics as well as using a Gigabyte Nvidia GT 710 graphics card.

The computer may go for a few minutes (say 10 or 15) before freezing, or possibly not even last one video. It's a bit random in that sense.

When it freezes the only thing I can do is cut power and turn it back on; mouse doesn't work, Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't work.

When it freezes the audio freezes as well, continuing to play the frequencies at the moment of the freeze, sounding like an unpleasant buzzing sound.

After a freeze -> cut power -> turn back on it may freeze during the next boot at the login screen or something and I'll have to cut power again and turn it back on.

With the computer on Ubuntu 16.04 it works fine, but on Windows 10 it has this issue. This leads me to believe it is not a hardware issue.

The computer has been freshly installed and Windows Update says it's up to date.

    Kind regards,

    Daniel

    Video to GIF converter

I got some video files I would like to turn into GIFs, some of them are up to 40 sec long so won't be the smallest GIFS out there. I haven't really tinkered with this before, so wondering if anyone has a suggestion on what to use for this, pref on freeware.
