  1. BSOD: driver irql_less_or_not_equal tcpip.sys

I got 2 BSODs with this error message in the last two weeks. Prior to that I've never had a BSOD since I built this pc a year and half ago except for experimenting with some overclocking when I first set it up. I'm wondering if it was a Windows update or something.

Here are the two .dmp files:

FYI I went to my wifi adapter's page to look for updated drivers and it said: Windows 8/10 already has the driver preloaded. Just plug the adapter into the computer and Windows will install the driver automatically.

I also use the Sandboxie program on my browser. I read it's not good to use in Win10 but I just use it for Firefox for extra security. I don't know if that could be a factor. I've been using it since I had this pc.

    :)

    BSOD: driver irql_less_or_not_equal

I've been getting the occasional BSOD for a while now and finally fed up enough to do something about it. It varies what the BSOD says the cause is but the one I can remember is driver irql_less_or_not_equal. So I went and did the driver verifier and got
some minidumps. Couldn't even boot into windows with driver verifier on. Crashes seem to happen most often when I'm playing Overwatch (and no other games) and while watching videos on Youtube (Firefox)

  3. Getting Critical_structure_corruption (tcpip/sys) BSOD on Windows 10 computer

    Old title: critical_structure_corruption (tcpip/sys)

    Hi,

I keeping getting a random BSOD with "critical_structure_corruption (tcpip/sys)" as the reason. I then have to wait approximately 10 seconds during which time Microsoft are collecting information about the error. This seemed to be introduced after the last
Windows update Tuesday. I couldn't find the cause so did a system restore and all was fine again until the following morning when Microsoft automatically installed the updates again. A rollback doesn't fix the problem now.

When are Microsoft going to fix it for me?

I have got an old-ish motherboard who's latest BIOS update was 2010 so I can't help but think this may be the reason. I've tried everything else.

    Any ideas?

  4. BSOD: driver irql_less_or_not_equal tcpip.sys

    BSOD - driver irql_less_or_not_equal (etd.sys)

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community and being a part of Windows 10.

As you are facing Blue screen errors on your device. I understand the inconvenience.

Provide us additional information to understand the issue and assist you better:

    • What is the make and model of your device?
    • Have you made any hardware/ software changes to the operating system that might have resulted in this issue?
    • What are the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue along with updating ELAN drivers?

This Stop error message usually occurs during installation when there was an attempt in kernel mode to touch pageable memory at too high a process
internal request level (IRQL). Typically, this error occurs when a driver uses an incorrect memory address. Other possible causes of this error include an incompatible device driver, a general hardware problem, or incompatible software.

This issue might have occurred due to compatibility issues of the drivers. I suggest you to install the ELAN drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

    • Download the updated driver from the manufacturer’s website.
    • Right click the driver installation file and select
Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
    • Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
    • Tap the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click
      OK.
    • Try installing the driver and check.
