  1. Notifications not doing anything when I click on them. Bug or by design?

Hi all. I've found a bunch of forums and reddit posts complaining about this, but no clear solution, or answer if this is by design.

I'm seeing this happen with 3 separate Win 10 machines, starting from fresh OS installs: I get various notification pop-ups in the bottom right corner, e.g. an app has an update, or I received a message. When I click on it, the pop-up disappears, but the actual source app doesn't open so that I can act on that notification. If I open the Win 10 sidebar, the notification is there, I can click it again but still nothing happens. Is this by design? Are these notifications supposed to be informative only and then it's up to me to track down the source app and act on it? Or is there some incorrect setting/bug that's blocking Windows from opening the app when I click the pop-up. Like I said, this has been happening on all 3 w10 computers in my house and has been happening ever since I got them with brand new W10 installations. There are no error messages either. I checked the event viewer too, nothing.

PS: I just remembered that stuff like windows security notifications do work properly when clicked (they open the right page in Settings), but if I remember correctly, those popups come from the system tray icon, not the windows notification sidebar.

  2. (SOLVED/CLOSED)looking for help with Android phone CONSTANT wireless signal notification

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.

  3. Microsoft News Notifications

Follow these steps to check if it works:

Step 1: Open the Windows Settings menu by pressing the Windows Key and “I,” or alternatively search for Settings in the Windows search bar and click the corresponding result.

Step 2: Click Notifications & Actions in the left-hand menu. This will take you to a screen providing access to all of the settings related to notifications and the Action Center.

Step 3: Click the System icon, then select Notifications and actions from the left-hand menu.

Step 4: Look for the Notifications subheading, where you will see a number of toggles for various types of notifications. The following is a list of the settings you can toggle on this screen:

    • Get notifications from apps and other senders
    • Show notifications on the lock screen
    • Show alarms, reminders, and incoming VoIP calls on the lock screen
    • Hide notifications when duplicating my screen
    • Get tips, tricks, and suggestions as you use Windows
You may just turn them off the notification as you need.

Notifications not doing anything when I click on them. Bug or by design?

    AMD FX OC'ers Club

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
