Windows 10: Screen brightness stuck drivers updated, device restarted sliders show but changing them...

See title. It was stuck at a very low brightness level. I disabled and enabled IntelR IrisR Plus Graphics and now it's stuck at a very high brightness level.

Pressing the brightness keys does nothing. It doesn't change the slider or the brightness level. Touching or clicking the slider slides the slider but doesn't change the brightness level. Shutting down and starting up or restarting: the problem stays the same. Updating IntelR IrisR Plus Graphics the only driver under Device Manager, which does not have an option to update itself: no driver updates found, the problem stays the same.

On screen Brightness control stuck on screen

New installation of Windows 10 1809 Home edition
Every time I boot the computer the brightness control/slider is stuck on the screen and will not go away. It shows 100%. The f2 and f3 keys make the brightness go up and down as normal and the slider flashes a bit but the on screen slider does no go away.


Is there a setting for the delay or is this a driver issue in Windows 10?

Brightness Slider Gone from Power Plan

Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Select action center/notification button on the right side of the taskbar, and then move the
Brightness slider to adjust the brightness. As mentioned in the article, if you
don't have a desktop PC and the slider doesn't appear or work, try updating the display driver.
As you have already update the Display drivers, I would suggest you to uninstall and delete the drivers then update it again. To uninstall and delete the drivers, please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Open Device Manager and then expand the Display adapters
   section.
2. Then right click on options listed below and click on Uninstall.
   
3. Check the box next to Delete this drivers.
4. Then reboot your device and update the drivers. You can also try updating the Batteries drivers along with display drivers from manufacturer’s website.

Missing Adjust Screen Brightness slider in Power Options

My HP laptop performed a Windows Update today. As a result, I've lost my "Adjust Screen Brightness" slider in Power Options. I can still find it in Settings - Display.

I have Win 10. I've found a YouTube video (specifically for Win 7) that suggests going to Device Manager - Monitors - Properties - Uninstall Device, but I've also read that doing so will merely result in the same driver being reinstalled.

What should I do to get the "Adjust Screen Brightness" slider back in Power Options?
