Windows 10: Purple screen in some games Overwatch and Warzone when in fullscreen mode

Specs: i5 9300h

gtx1650


It's weird because i've been having this problem for a really long time now and i still don't knw how to fix it. When i would have Overwatch in fullscreen mode with the 75 hertz option, It would be purple and unplayable, but if i switched it to 60 hertz, it would just fine and the same goes for warzone. I can make 75 hertz mode work by making it windowed or borderless window but it doesn't explain the problem. I have deleted and updated my drivers many times so i don't think that's an issue. What should i do?

Games crashing in fullscreen mode

Hi, I have a problem with all games on my PC for a while. Every time when I try to launch games in fullscreen, they crash and won't launch. I mask the problem with windowed mode (in windowed mode there is no problem) but it's annoying and fps drops down
in windowed mode.

I tried so many things - reinstalling display drivers, reinstalling all games and steam, some minor "fixes" that I found on the web, but nothing helps.

My PC specs:

• Windows 10 x64
• NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M
• Intel Core i7-6700HQ CPU

I really don't know what to do. I will be very happy if someone can help. Thank you!

 

Fullscreen mode problem

I did a clean boot and I was able to run it in fullscreen. At first it was minimizing the game at fullscreen and I had to click on the icon to bring it back on screen. After a few clicks the game seemed to run in fullscreen without any problems.

The problem is caused by NahimicService.exe which has something to do with audio drivers of Sonic Studio, applications wwhich are included in ASUS and MSI Motherboards.

There are many Official Forums of those Brands that suggest to uninstall Realtek drivers.

To have clarity on this issue and guide you accordingly, kindly help us with the following information.

• Is the issue specific to a game or does it occur on all the games?
  
• Is the issue specific to only games or does it occur while playing full screen videos?
  

If the issue occurs while playing videos in full screen, you may want to uninstall and reinstall the video card drivers to see if it helps.

• Right click the Windows icon on the taskbar and choose
  Device manager.
  
• Expand Display Adapters, right click on your video card driver and choose
  Uninstall.
  
• Check the box Delete the driver software for this device.
  
• Reboot the machine for Windows to automatically reinstall the drivers.
  

If the issue is specific to games, it could be a compatibility issue. I suggest you to refer to the article
Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows and run the games
in compatibility mode to see if it helps.



If the issue persists, it could be due to the full screen optimization. As you’ve already updated the drivers, I would suggest you to disable the same and check if it works.

• Open Settings and go to System > Display.
  
• On the right pane, click on the Advanced graphics settings
  hyperlink.
  
• Uncheck Enable fullscreen optimizations
  and exit Settings.
  
• Restart the machine and see if the issue persists.
