Windows 10: Help with Windows Audio Drivers. Conexant vs High Def and this weird PS4 glitch?

Hey folks.

I have an interesting situation and I've been trying to get it right but just can't seem how to fix it or if there is even a solution.

PC: I have an older HP ENVY AIO Model HP 24N014. Great machine with a quad-core processor with built-in 4x4W SPeakers which sound awesome. Not MAC level but still great especially for its time.

ISSUE: I upgraded from the original HDD to a Crucial SSD. Cloned an exact copy. Sometimes, however, speakers will stop playing sound and I have to either restart the PC or turn it off and on. This is seriously annoying as there is no real pattern as to when it can happen. it just kinda does?

I've read that Conexant drivers are crap but when I install HIGH definition audio drivers this bug seems to go away but I run into the following problem. There is no sound on my PS4 that I like to play on. The weird Conexant issue is no longer present but I get no sound from my PS4.

This is driving me nuts so much so that I went back to Conexant drivers. I tried to reset and fresh install windows but without updating to most current windows because I still like the 1909 version the PC is on. I think the original HDD came with 1863 windows.

Something I like to do is be able to change screen brightness and I can't do that on newer versions of windows for some reason. I tried by doing a clean install to the latest version. NO matter what I try there seems to be an issue with both Conexant or High def drivers. I hope this makes sense and if anyone knows of any possible solutions? I have also tried an older driver version for Conexant straight from HP and still no luck.

I just want consistent sound at all times without hiccups whether I'm zooming at work or turning in bounties in tumbleweed.

How can I permanently uninstall Conexant SmartAudio HD audio driver

It's not work. I have done this

1. download and run the program you suggested.

Conexant driver is not on the list (select to hide)

2. uninstall Conexant driver

High Definition Audio Device is in used now

3. run program again

Conexant driver still not on the list (select to hide)

4. restart my laptop

High Definition Audio Device still in used.

5. run program again

Conexant driver is on the list (select to hide)

6. Select Conexant and Hide it

Conexant driver is now in hidden list

7. a few minutes later my laptop notify me to restart my laptop to finished setting up Conexant

Conexant driver is now disappear from the hidden list and take over my sound device again.

8. cry so hard

i update conexant HD .. but sound not powerfull and
sounds a bit strange..

but Driver High definition audio, sound powerfull ..

I use the audio driver high definition but I checked the window update ,
Driver conexant HD appears , whether it should be renewed on or use
high definition audio-only ..

Please Help me

Conexant SmartAudio HD Driver's Update

Hi marbarak.

Not really a solution since you can't deactivate updates anymore. At least it's not possible on Win 10 pro. Even in the Device installation settings, it doesn't matter if you tick the case for never updating drivers, windows 10 still downloads and installs
the Conexant driver.

I'm testing a fix right now but would like to try it for some days before claiming it's definitely working. In the device settings under Audio Video controler, you do a right click on the Conexant driver and click update. Then instead of installing automatically,
you chose to search it on your pc and from a list of drivers. It will give you the choice between Conexant and "High definition Audio driver". Pick the High def. one and install it. If in the next days, windows won't replace it by Conexant, it's a permanent
fix.

After installing it, your audio (also dolby) will work fine and the microphone which had issues through several drivers will work perfectly. Cortana will react faster to Hey Cortana and I have the impression that my Laptop boots like 5 seconds faster (boot
+ loading my autostart programs)
