Windows 10: Feature update to Windows 10 version 20H2 failed with error code 0x80242016

I have tried every possible thing I could find on the internet to get this update to install, but it WILL NOT UPDATE.

Why can't Microsoft make updates that work for it's own OS?

It downloads, says it installed, and prompts me to reboot my computer.

After I reboot I get a notification that it could not install the update.

Why doesn't it say why it couldn't install the update?

Wouldn't that be more helpful?

Is this 1986?

Dear community,

I am getting the 0xc1900101 error for a few month already when trying to update my Windows 10.

I tried with the latest feature update to windows 10 version 20H2 today and the problem still remains.

I tried a lot of solutions found on the internet to solve this issue, but none of them worked:

At about 60% of the update, it fails, and Windows rolls back to its previous version.

Any tip on how to get more insight about this error and find a way on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

 

Error with update for windows 10 0x80242016

I have installed windows 10 1903 by clean way and tried update operating system, but after all windows updates i have checked the update list and seen that pic



but it turned out already have installed that update in "installed updates"



So the main question is "do i need reinstall that update or it installed correct and everything is okay?"
