  1. ARP type "invalid"

    Hi,

I'm fail to connect to a server on my LAN directly using the local IP address, which is statically configured on my router.

I began basic troubleshooting and tried to ping the server and got `Destination host unreachable`.

Then tried to connect to the same server using the public domain name and was successful.

Confused, I figured it had something to do with the server itself or the router.

After rebooting both the same situation occurred.

Then I decided to look at the ARP table of my PC and saw this:

    Internet Address Physical Address Type

    192.168.1.1 b0-be-76-**-**-** dynamic # router

    192.168.1.101 00-00-00-00-00-00 invalid # server

    output modified

I can't seem to delete the second row.

    I Tried:

    arp -d

    and tried:

    netsh interface ip delete arpcache

    using CMD as admin

    Both didn't change the record.

Would love to get some help :

    :)

  2. ARP network problem

Running cmd.exe : arp -a -v lists all IP addresses on the C class subnet on one of my Win 10 Pro machines (another one is fine).

The erroneous entries are all in this format:

    192.168.50.251 00-00-00-00-00-00 invalid

    192.168.50.252 00-00-00-00-00-00 invalid

    192.168.50.253 00-00-00-00-00-00 invalid

    192.168.50.254 00-00-00-00-00-00 invalid

These are listed on my Ethernet interface on that subnet and also for an interface: 0.0.0.0 --- 0xffffffff

Disabling the Ethernet adapter and re enabling it corrects the problem for a short period, but it always comes back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    ARP type "invalid"

    ARP chaos!

    Hey all.

Doing some school stuff, and some of it requires us looking at packets with Wireshark, and I just discovered ARP is taking control of my network.

I captured packets for about 1000 sec and in that time I got around 6500 arp packets. That can't be normal, or is it?

The attached pic shows the "network" in all it's glory.

Now, most of the packets come from something called d-link_c5:ce:0c, and there's a bunch of other things named Gigabyte, Zyxel and whatnot in there too. I thought there might something with my neighbours wlan, but there's no difference with wlan turned off.

Any suggestions to what causes this, or is this simply how it's supposed to be?

    Thanks!
