Windows 10: Issue with internet gradually slowing down in windows 10

Hello,


I'm experiencing an odd issue where my internet slows down after the PC is up and running. After a reboot I get 1.5 gig speeds which is exactly what my ISP is supposed to provide. However after about an hour or so of the system being on, a download causes my system to come to a crashing halt.


Literally doing any download causes my system to freeze up. If I do a reboot I get over 1gig download on Ookla speed test, after about an hour I barely manage to get 50mbps down. What's interesting is that the upload speed is fine, I get 900mbps upload upon reboot and regardless of the system being on for a while the test still provides 900mbps upload speeds.


Can anyone help with this issue?


I've already tried changing the cable, so it's not a cable issue.

• What is the make and model of the laptop?
• What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type winver in Windows search/Run command)
• What type of internet connection are you using (wired/wireless)?
• Are you facing lag issue with any other device like a smart phone or a different laptop to the same network?
• Do you face the same issue connecting the Laptop to a different network?
• Did you try connecting the laptop using an Ethernet cable?

• Have you installed all pending Windows updates?
• Have you tried connecting to some other Internet connection and check if the same issue occurs?

We suggest you to connect your system to some other network and check if the same slow Internet connection issue persists. If no then there must be issue with your Internet connection.

Windows 10 download speed issues

Try this method:

• First of all from Start Menu, open Settings (Type settings in the search bar and it will appear).
• locate and select “Update and Security“.
• in this window, Locate “Advanced Options”. Click on it.
• In Advanced Options; Click on “Choose How Updates are Delivered“.
• Turn off Updates from more than one place.

Your system will not work as a seeder for other Windows 10 users. It will give sudden boast to your Slow internet speed.
