Windows 10: Win7 Ultimate upgrade to Win10 Pro hangs up on "Working on Updates30%

I have a desktop running Win7 Ultimate w/SP1. I have tried at least 5 times to run the upgrade to Win 10 using the Media Cr3ation Tool and downloading Win10 then running the upgrade. It does the entire process through the reboot and starting to work on updates. It always hangs up on 30% I have first left the machine fo an hour and no advance. I then left it for 4 hours and no advaqnce. I even left it overnight on the last try and still no advance past 30%. I use BitDefender antivirus but all that is turned off and all my external periferals are unplugged. I have the legal and registered original Win7 Ultimate CDs and even tried reloading the Win7 Ultimate but the same result. What have I overlooked? Please help.

Installing Win7 Ultimate Over Win10 Home to get Pro

Hello,

I'm about to purchase a laptop that comes with the Win10 Home pre-installed.

I do, however still own a license of Win7 Ultimate, so I should be entitled to Win10 Pro after upgrading.

Is it therefore possible for me to over-write the pre-installed Win10 Home with my Win7 Ultimate first (clean install), and then perform an upgrade, which would grant me Win10 Pro?

Currently running Win7 Ultimate: Will the upgrade to Win10 provide equal content/version as I have on Win7 Ultimate, or will I have to pay to add those features?

Bought upgrade to Win7 Ultimate, free upgrade to Win10, want to use upgrade on new computer

I still have Win7 Ultimate product key. Upgraded to Win10 Pro for free. The computer OS got corrupted so I bought a new computer that came with Win10 Home. How can I upgrade the new computer to Win10 Pro?
