How Can I Eliminate A Windows Pin Request On Startup?

I have a Dell Windows 10 PC in my home where I am the only user so I did away with the requirement to need to enter a pin. I don't remember what I did but I do remember it was pretty easy. I have an 80 year old friend who lives alone and recently upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 on an HP. She doesn't like having to enter the pin so I said I would turn that off for her. Unfortunately, I have been unable to do so after multiple attempts.

Somehow, when Windows starts, her name shows up twice in the lower left hand corner of the screen. She picks one and then enters her pin. My name doesn't show up in the lower left hand corner. I don't know how hers got there. I have read a number of posts online about disabling the pin but nothing seems to work for me.

Another oddity is when Windows is coming up she gets a message something like "incorrect password" before she even enters anything. It sounds like there is an automatic login that is trying to run. Can someone please help me configure her PC so when she boots up it goes right to her desktop with no pin needed? Thanks for any help.

Eliminate continual request for Picture or PIN as sign in

    Hello Elaine,

Setting up a PIN is is good, however if you don't want to be asked to setup a PIN or Picture password, I suggest that you try these steps below:

    1. When you're on the login screen, click on the icon on the right under the Sign in.
    2. After clicking, enter your password as usual.
    3. The request for PIN or Picture should disappear.

It may seem to be a workaround but I also suggest that you submit your issue using the
Feedback Hub. You can either vote on an existing submission or submit a new issue. When you submit a feedback item, we gather additional details and information about your issue that will help determine what's causing it
and address it. Feedback items regularly receive Microsoft responses on the submissions in the Feedback app so you can see what we are doing about your feedback. Please revisit frequently to see the status of your feedback items.

In order to submit a new feedback, please follow these steps:

    1. On a Windows 10 device, search for "Feedback Hub" in Cortana search, then launch the app.
    2. Navigate to Feedback in the left menu, then press +
      Add new feedback.
    3. Select the Problem, and share any details you think are relevant, and choose an appropriate category and subcategory.
    1. Important: If possible, reproduce the problem(s) after clicking
      Begin monitoring (or
      Start capture) near the end of the form;
      Stop monitoring when you're done.
    1. Once you've completed the form and monitoring, click Submit.
    2. Click Continue using Feedback Hub.
    3. Click My feedback at the top, then find the item you submitted (it may take a while to appear).
    4. Open the item you submitted, then click Share.
    5. Click Copy link, then paste the link here in your response ( it will look like
      https://aka.ms/<unique link> ).

Let us know if you need further help.

  4. How Can I Eliminate A Windows Pin Request On Startup?

Set Nokia 5230 to request lock code (not pin) at startup.

    Hi,

As the title suggests I want to set my 5230 to request the lock code at startup (the one thats 12345 by default). But not to request the code when bringing it out of standby.

I used to have it set that way, but since updating the firmware I can only find the option to request the sim pin or to set it to lock after x minutes.

Has it changed in v40 or am I being thick?

    Thanks
