Windows 10: Hp Laptop Updates drivers without permission

I have noticed that on Windows Updates appeared in blue "See Optional Updates" showing "Drivers updates" which I never did.


If I go to "Advanced Options" everything is off, like "Receive updates from other Microsoft products...", "Receive updates through connections with limited traffic..." etc


However If I go to "Updates History", in it I see:


"Feature Updates"

- Features Update of Windows 10, versão 20H2 1 - I think it's normal


"Quality Updates"

- It shows 4 updates KB4023057, KB4601319, etc...etc - I think it's normal


"Driver Updates"

- It shows 17, like Intel Component 17.9.01 2 times, Realtek Semiconductor Corp. [COLOR=rgba0, 0, 0, 1]exten[/COLOR]sion..., again lots of Intel Component updates, Brother image I have a brother printer, HP Inc software component various etc etc

[COLOR=rgba42, 0, 170, 1]I do not see how windows did that by itself, I never checked any box for this drivers updates, never turned on any option for that, and as you can read at the beginning I have every off for updates other than the normal windows update.[/COLOR]

- Shows lots of KB...updates - I think it's normal

HP Support: No support for my HP laptop driver, same from AMD manufacturer.

Sorry for the delay in response.

We would suggest you to runt the Power troubleshooter and check.

Try to run the troubleshooter and check.

• Type Troubleshooting in the search box and hit
  Enter.
• Select View all from the left pane and select Power.
• Follow the on-screen troubleshooter and try the steps.

We would also suggest you to update the firmware of the BIOS and install the chipset drivers and check.

The HP list can get more specific if you step backwards to https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/laptops and then enter your serial number instead of relying on the model number alone.

If the final list includes several versions of the same driver then you could usefully download the latest version in each case.

If you believe that your currently-installed drivers are correct then you can export them in an admin command window using this command -
[replace E:\DriverBackupFolders with the path to an existing folder on, say, an external HDD]

- And you can point to this folder again when you reinstall by opening Device manager & using the update driver routine for any devices that have warning icons on them - just select the option that you have the installation disk in each case and give that folder as its location.
- Personally, I use the latest drivers downloaded from the OEM and then just use the backups for cases that remain a problem.
- After that you could use the HP support assistant [which is on the HP list you linked to] to detect and obtain any drivers that are still a problem.
