Windows 10: Windows 10 ssd from another motherboard

    Windows 10 ssd from another motherboard


    Installed windows 10 Pro on new asus strix z490 board but after I the finished installed on motherboard i realized some usb ports are damaged/not working. So if I take ssd m.2 from this motherboard to a new asus hero z490 would that be OK or do I need to do a fresh install again?


    If I have to do a fresh install what would be best way to format C: DRIVE and start over?

    The only hardware changes that can negatively impact activation status once you upgrade to free version are the changes to the:

    • CPU
    • TPM
    • Motherboard replacement
    The following changes are examples of hardware changes that will NOT impact the activation status:

    • HDD/SSD
    • Video card
    • Adding extra memory

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
