Unable to Access BitLocker Drive From Windows Explorer After it’s Unlocked

I’m running Windows 10 Pro 20H2 on several PCs. I use BitLocker on several external USB drives connected to these PCs for backup purposes. I use a batch file to unlock the drives, copy files to them then lock the drives. This has been working perfectly for a couple of years - until the past few weeks when the following started happening:

When I unlock a drive I still get a message on the screen saying the drive is now unlocked. However…

    1. Once the drive is unlocked, I am no longer able to access it from Windows Explorer. When I click the drive in Explorer a box opens in the upper right of my screen with this message: “Bitlocker Z: The drive protected by BitLocker Drive Encryption is Already Unlocked.” I can’t get past that in Explorer.

    2. The icon for the drive in Windows Explorer shows that the drive is still locked.

    3. My backup batch file still works. The batch file can still unlock a drive, copy files to it then lock the drive again.

    4. I CAN access the drive from a command window.

The above is now happening on all of my USB-BitLocker drives on all of my PCs. That makes me think it's a bug in a recent Windows Update. Again, all of this worked perfectly until the past few weeks.

    Any clues or suggestions appreciated!

    :)

Windows 8.1 PRO unable to unlock Bitlocked drive

As you can see Drive D is no longer present in BitLocker Drive Encryption.

When I click on this Drive under Explorer I got the option to FORMAT this Drive and when I click cancel I get the following.

When I do Right Click on this Drive, I no longer see BitLocker option like I used to.

Windows 8.1 PRO unable to unlock Bitlocked drive

That's not good. You can try re-installing Windows 8 and unlocking the drive, and disabling Bitlocker on that drive, before upgrading to 8.1. Though I have a bad feeling that even going back to Windows 8 might not help, I have a feeling the drive just bit the dust and corrupted the file system...

Unable to Access BitLocker Drive From Windows Explorer After it’s Unlocked

Windows 8.1 PRO unable to unlock Bitlocked drive

I used a Bitlocker in Windows 8 PRO to Lock my Internal SATA Drive. I have formatted my PC twice in past and I was able to unlock it after each fresh installation of Windows 8.

But Recently I did a fresh Installation of Windows using same Software and CDKEY. This time I did upgraded to Windows 8.1 including all the latest patches.
Problem is When I click on my Drive, Windows give me the message " DO YOU WANT TO FORM IT" When I do click Cancel. I do the following message "The
volume does not contain a recognized file system....."
Here is the screenshot of error message

Disk management shows a healthy Drive:

I have done fresh installation of windows several times before but never had this issue. I was always able to restore security settings and unlock my drive using BITLOCKER.

I have tried to unlock the drive with just Windows 8 pro and the problem persists.

    Additional Info:
    - Control Panel > BitLocker, Software no longer shows my drive under it.
    - Hardware specs remain the same before or after the issue.

Any tech support would be great.
