  1. Computer updates, but stays at earlier version?

I have a HP Laptop that came with Windows 10 Home. It's slightly older than one year. I'm not sure if it came with version 1909, or if it updated to that at some point.

anyway, I have tried to update it beyond that for a couple of days now, first to 20H2, and then when that did nothing, opted in to beta and updated it to 21H1.

The thing is, it displays no errors, says it updated successfully, and "check new updates" shows that it's up to date. It doesn't find new updates. If I check the update history, it shows the updates as "Failed to install <date>" without no further explanations or means to try updating again.

winver (and settings) both show that it's still on 1909 with the 18363.1379 build.

I'm currently running the media creation tool and trying if I can upgrade that way, but is there any other things I could try? (Other than completely wiping and reinstalling, don't wanna do that!)

  2. Computer Won't Stay in Sleep Mode

Please see update below. Still having issues on this and would like to get it resolved.

    • Windows version is "Version 1703 (OS Build 15063.726)"
    • I have taken the following steps so far:
      • checked all devices and ensure none of them are allowed to wake the computer from sleep.
      • I contacted Dell and updated my BIOS
Neither of the above have fixed my problem. Any help would be most appreciated.

    Thanks,
