    So I've got 32GB of RAM, 38% of it is used, still Windows thinks it necessary to wreak havoc on my poor HDD instead? That poor baby's moaning and groaning away at 100% while running some memory intensive programs, meanwhile my RAM which is specifically designed for that task remains unused. And on top of that it slows down my sytem.

    The HDD's got less space available than the RAM for crying out loud mostly because Windows thinks the HDD is it's dump. So there should be no reason to favour it over the RAM.

    And I don't want to disable virtual memory, I have nothing against virtual memory, I think it's great, and it's probably even more great for people with less RAM or whatever, but how do I stop Windows from using it until like let's say at least 80% of my RAM is used?

    So please no generic answer as to how to disable virtual memory, I want some kind of hack or whatever that can change Windows' behaviour in this regard.

    • Are you getting that your Windows is not activated and is your Windows activated?
    • Are you not able to get into Settings in Windows?
    • Are you trying to increase the virtual memory?
    • Are you getting any error message or code regarding the memory issues?

  3. Virtual Memory is low.

    Steps to Increase Virtual Memory in Windows 10.

    Step 1: Go to Start Menu and click on Settings.

    Step 2: Now type performance on search bar and select Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows.

    Step 3: A new Window will open before you. Go to Advanced tab in it.

    Step 4: You’ll see a Virtual memory section in it. Click on Change.

    Step 5: If the current setting is considerably less than the recommended, unselect the Automatically manage paging file size for all drives box on this window and click on Custom size.

    Step 6: Now enter the recommended value in the Initial Size box, and a larger figure in the Maximum size

    Step 7: Click on OK to save the changes.

    For Windows activation issues,

    Refer: Get Help Activating Microsoft Windows

    To increase the virtual memory in Windows 10 please follow the below steps.

    • Press Windows + E keys, opens File explorer.
    • Left side Navigation Pane right click on
      This PC.
    • Select Properties, select Advance system settings.
    • Select Settings next to performance.
    • Under Advance Tab select change in
      Virtual memory.
    • Uncheck Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.
    • Select the Range of virtual memory that you want to change.
    Restart and check if the issue is resolved.
