Windows 10: My external mic audio is muffled to everyone else in a call with me when I open any other...

I use earbuds for my mic and sound and when in discord I open Spotify, google or any game that has sound my audio from my mic is muffled and after searching in discord support and settings found it is not on their end. I have tried multiple brands and types of mic and audio devices and it still happens. How can I fix this? I couldn't find anything helpful in my system settings.

I got a new Lenovo laptop (ideapad 330s) with Windows 10. I am trying to record songs on audacity using an external mic and the audio output is bad and muffled. I tried a different recording app and the issue persists. The laptop mic gives me a much worse
audio output.

Have used the external mic on my old laptop and it works just fine. The drivers are up to date. And i cannot find the audio enhancement option to disable. This is extremely frustrating. Please help

Ok so I been playing on my PC right,running on windows 8.1 for certain reasons,and anyway my mic is VERY VERY muffled...and I mean it sonds as if im at the bottom of the mariana trench,i have it all the way up and boosted to 30,also I am using 1 pair of
headphones as actual headphones and then using a gaming headset with a built in mic as my mic,if anyone has anyway to boost my sound more or make it so im not muffled and can actually play some SCP and talk,i would be very thankful

The issue could be because of the internal mic picking up sound even when the external device is pluuged in. If you have the RealTek HD Audi Manager installed on the machine, I would suggest you to try the steps listed below and check if it works for
you.

• Open RealTek HD Audio Manager and go to the
  Advanced tab.
  
• Check the boxes Separate all input jacks as independent input devices
  and Mute the internal output device, when external headphone is plugged in,
  and hit OK.
  
• Exit RealTek HD Audio Manager, restart the machine and see if the issue persists.
