    W10 forgets about window positioning

Windows 10 Pro 64bits 1909 18363.1316 (No, don't tell me to go 2003 because it messed up some drivers on a previous 1909 to 2003 upgrade, like Phone detection via USB among other things like half screen vertically blacked out when pressing Win+S)

Let's say that if i open a shortcut to a folder from the desktop this one appears at the top left corner of the monitor

Now i move such window to the center-right of the screen, then close it. (Be it with X , be it with top left's icon->Close)

Now whenever W10 reboots / starts and i do the first step it goes back to the top left corner AGAIN

Some people says "Go to a window's -View- tab, then Options, then "See/view" tab, then "Restore previous folder windows when logging in"...I did that and it didn't worked (It only makes that if you left a window open and you turn off/restart ya PC it'll re-appear where it was, wich's not the case (Stupid Google))

Things like DISCORD are staying with the same size and positioning as i leave it, but when it comes to File Explorer IT DOESN'T REMEMBERS IT

    Is there any possible fix?

  2. App window size & position on W10 desktop..

    Dear MS-Community,

It seems that MS have got so much right this time, and we users will need to allow for a transition, while we allow time to learn new ways of doing what we want to get done. Still, there will be oddities, sharp corners that need polishing smooth.

One property of the new desktop & app windows, is proving to be a deep
frustration. I and others have tried asking for solutions, but are struggling to find the vocabulary needed to ask the question, and are
all getting non-answers (search answers for "window size").

    So, I will try again.

    Questions

Noting that these very basic features have been available in all previous versions and editions of MS Windows:

    • How do I now, in W10, get two desktop app windows (DAWs) to share the desktop
equally? This used to be achieved by having two DAWs active, and then selecting 'Show windows side by side'. Now, in W10, selecting 'side by side' results only in a cramped tiling of active windows.
    • How do I now, in W10, get DAWs to 'remember' their last setting of size and position, such that re-opened DAWs will open with the same size and position that they had when last closed?
    • Could someone give a direct answer to these two questions, providing the solutions as steps to be taken in W10 -
or, will someone acknowledge that these features are no longer available, in W10?

    E.g.

    x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x

    x App1 x App2 x

    x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x

Thank you. W10 forgets about window positioning :)

  3. App window size & position on W10 desktop..

    Dear SevenStarQI,

No, it is not called 'Snapping'.

I refer you to the context that was my questions.

    1. 'Snapping' is not a single command (eg 'Show windows side by side', which can be assigned to a keyboard).

    2. 'Snapped' windows do not "'remember' their last setting of size and position, such that re-opened DAWs will open with the same size and position that they had when last closed?"

3a. Could someone give a direct answer to these two questions, providing the solutions as steps to be taken in W10, or,

3b. Will someone acknowledge that these features are no longer available, in W10?

'Snapping' is a function that must be performed per window, on each opening of each window - since the size and position are not 'remembered'; not on Open/Close, not even on Maximise/Restore Down.

Could you therefore answer the asked questions, 1. and 2., in the form asked for in 3.?

To receive an answer to the questions asked, and not to some other question, does not seem an unreasonable request.

Thank you for your help with this,

    W10 forgets about window positioning

Unlocked Realtek HD Audio Drivers Windows 7 & 8 (With Dolby Digital Live and DTS Interactive)

Wait, but have you done the whole step-by-step guide described in the OP? DDL/DTS isn't supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 either, unless if you do the steps listed there.
