Windows 10: Screen Streaking, Flickering

The screen on my HP Spectre 360x 15in one day started to have minor streaking from things like the windows of apps and CC on shows and has now progressed to a state where I cannot see anything as the full screen is covered in a moving streaky mess that is normally triggered after it wakes up from being AFK and the screen going to sleep, or any time where the screen turns off. It will sometimes wake up and after a few seconds be just fine with the minor streaking, other times I have to use a dual monitor in order to duplicate it onto the monitor in order to be able to see anything at all. I have updated the drivers recently, but not sure which ones would need updating so I updated the ones that looked graphics oriented. Also this morning during startup it stated that it was repairing and fixing C:.

Issue:

Screen streaking, ghost images staying, full screen not visible


Cause:

Initial cause unknown, can be worsened and caused by starting computer from sleep


Fix:

Not known, possibly letting it not be used as more time spent in use might worsen it

I haven't made any changes on my device. This screen flickering is only happening in Safe Mode.

Screen flickering in safe mode help!

I understand your query. I suggest you to follow the steps to get out of safe mode.

• 
  Press Windows key + R
  
• 
  Type msconfig
  
• 
  In msconfig > Boot tab >
  Boot Options > uncheck Safe Boot > APPLY / OK.
