TV Monitor can barely turn on when starting PC

    Windows 10 Pro

    Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0

    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070

I have two monitors connected by display port, and a third display which is an LG 720p TV connected by HDMI, all into the NVIDIA Card. Previously, I would power up my machine, turn on all 3 monitors and they would start right up. Eventually it got to the point where I couldn't turn on the TV until I logged into my user on the PC. No big deal. Then this weird phenomenon started where I log in, power up the TV, and it turns on for a moment, the desktop extends to it, then it shuts itself back off. No big deal, I just turn it on a second time and it works just fine. Now, I need to turn the TV on several times, each time it powers on for a second, the desktop extends, then it shuts back down. Over and over. It will take up to 2 minutes to get this TV to stay on sometimes. And it seems like it takes more attempts each day. Once it stays on for more than a second or two, it's good to go. What's the deal?

    :)

  3. TV NOT RECOGNISED ON MY PC

    Hi,

This issue is most likely due to faulty drivers or incorrect settings. We suggest that you follow the following methods to further isolate this issue.

METHOD 1: Take a look at the display output settings.

    • Right-click on the desktop and then select Display
      settings.
    • Check if you are able to see the TV as an available second monitor.

METHOD 2: Check for faulty drivers.

    • Right-click on the Start button, and then select
      Device Manager.
    • Check for any driver that could be related to the TV or any driver that could have the
      yellow exclamation mark icon.

METHOD 3: Update the graphics driver in Device Manager.

    • Right-click on the Start button, and then select
      Device Manager.
    • Find your graphics driver under Display adapters and then refer to this
article for further steps on how to automatically update drivers in Windows
      10.

We would also like to know how your TV was connected to the PC, as well as any changes made on the system prior to the issue.

Let us know how it turns out.

  4. TV Monitor can barely turn on when starting PC

My TV no longer recognises my PC

    Hi Dhasdell,

I appreciate you for providing details about the issue and we are happy to assist you.

Just to clarify ,have you tried to use different HDMI/VGA cable?

Method 1: After you have the right cable (HDMI Cable), follow these steps to connect your computer to your TV.

Turn off your computer and position it within easy reach of your TV. Disconnect the monitor, but leave the mouse and keyboard connected.

Connect the appropriate video cable from your computer's output to your TV.

Turn on your TV and set it to the input that matches the output on your computer. You might need to refer to the user's guide included with your TV for instructions on how to do this.

    Turn on your computer.

You should see Windows displayed on your TV. If the screen looks stretched, or part of the screen seems cut off, you probably need to adjust the screen resolution in Windows.

If you can't see Windows on your TV, you might need to reconnect the computer to your monitor and adjust the screen resolution before you connect to your TV.

If the issue persists then follow the below method.

    Method 2:

I suggest you to update the Display adapters driver from the Device Manager and check if it works.

    Follow the below steps:

    • Right click on Start button and click on Device Manager.

    • Select the Graphic driver from the list by extending
      Display adapters
      .

    • Right click on the Graphic driver and click on Update driver Software.
If the issue persists then, I would recommend you to download and install the latest video driver from the manufacturer and check if it works.

Hope the above information was helpful. If you need further assistance, we will be glad to assist you.
