Windows 10: Large disk space usage after system restore

So I've recently Done a system restore on my MSI laptop and opted not to keep any previous files. After the restore was done however I noticed that there was significantly less disk space than there was when I had just bought it Missing about 100 gigs. Now I've made sure that the system restore space allocation is set to 2% however this is what I see when I pull up the system restore folder on TreeSize. I Know nothing about this type of thing but after some research this doesn't seem to be right. any help on restore my SSD space is greatly appreciated thank you.

Any way to get rid of Low Disk Space notification?

If you are still prompted that you have a low disk space after using Disk Cleanup, it could be that
System Restore is configured to take up a lot of space. May we know if you have checked if system restore is taking up too much space on your device? There are times that
System Protection had been configured to use a large disk space to keep
System Restore Points. To check and configure System Protection, kindly follow the steps below:

• Press the Start button, then type control panel, and select
  Control Panel from the list of search results.
• Search for Recovery in Control Panel, then select
  Recovery.
• Select Configure System Restore.
• Select Configure.
• Under Disk Space Usage, beside Current Usage:, you will see how much space it is taking on your device.
• From that window, you may set the Max Usage or delete all restore points in your drive.

System Restore Disk Space Setting Keeps Changing Back to 100%

Hi Tom,

Before we proceed, I would like you to provide the information stated below:

• How did you "turn down the Disk Space Usage setting to 15%"?
• Do you regularly install and uninstall app or programs in your PC?

To begin with, I would like to inform the folder System Volume Information stores the information created by the PC in order to help you perform System Restore.

The above might occur if you regularly install or make significant changes to the PC and have set the features of System Restore to automatic. This will cause automatic creation of restore points thus increasing the information added to the above folder.

For now, I suggest that you follow the steps below and check if it helps:

1. On the search bar type, Create System Restore.

2. On this window click on System Protection, and locate the Configure button under
Protection Settings.

3. Here you can set the space that you wish to set for your Restore. Once set, the points created before will automatically get deleted.

Free hard disk space reduce after system restore

If your system is running ok now, you could disable system restore then re enable it, thus removing all previous restore points and freeing up that lost space!
