Windows 10: Downloading files with FireFox

FF vr. 87.0. For the last week or so, when I see a link to download a file, a single click appears not to respond. Several clicks again on the same link give no indication of anything downloading. To my surprise, every click does in fact download the file. Usually there is an option that pops up and asks if you want to open the file or save it. Not any longer for me, it just saves the file. Is this a new "feature"?? *Zip

Downloaded files disappear


When you download a file through any browser, there's an option somewhere to 'Open Containing Folder.'

In Windows, to find a file you have downloaded...

1. Open your personal folder by clicking the Start button and then clicking your user name at the top of the Start menu's right pane.
   
2. Double-click one of the following folders:
   
   • Downloads
     
   • Documents
     
   • Pictures
     
   • Videos
     
   • Music

If you do not see the file you are looking for, but know its file name, you can search for it by following these steps:
To search for a file you have downloaded...

1. Click the Start button
   
2. Type all or part of the file name into the Search box.
   The file you are looking for will appear in the list of results.

 

Firefox Download Managers?

When dealing with really large file i use a 3rd party downloader called Free Download Manager.

Works with Seamonkey IE and Firefox for sure and you can even use it to download of places like D2D were a password or such is involved.
