Windows 10: Insufficient memory

I am running an xcopy in a batch file from a folder on the c drive to a folder on an external hard drive.

The program finds the correct drives, folders and files and starts the xcopy. This runs for a short while and then crashes with an "Insufficient Memory" error.

The PC has a 3.3 g i5 processor, 8 gigs memory, the c drive has 817 gigs free and the external drive has 2.4 Tb free. The paging file had 4972mb for all drives, which I changed to 18000mb, and which made no difference.

I upgraded from windows 8.1 to windows 10. Though the computer shows 14.6GB of free space, it says there is insufficient memory to download apps of 2GB. Suggestions?

Insufficient Memory does not refer to hard drive space, that refers to RAM, the best option would be to re-install TurboTax to see if that resolves this error . . .
