  2. Windows 10 - Will not hibernate after prolonged use, previous fix for 10016 worked for awhile, but no longer fixes hibernate issue.

    Hi,

I would suggest that you to disable and re-enable hibernate mode and check if it helps.

Follow these steps and check if it helps:

    a) Press Windows Key +W, type "Shutdown Settings"

    b) Click the "Settings" Icon on the right of the screen.

    c) Click "Change what the power buttons do" on the left of the screen.

    d) Click on the drop down menu bedsides “When I press the power button”.

    e) Select shut down from the drop down list.

    f) Click on Save changes.

    g) Restart the computer and follow the same steps to select Hibernate from the drop down list besides “When I press the power button”.

    h) Put the computer into hibernate mode and check if it saves the work that you had performed.

    Method 2:

I would suggest you to create a new power plan and check if you get the same issue on the new power plan as well.
You can refer to the link to create another power plan:
    "Power plans: Frequently asked questions"
Follow the section "Can I create a power plan?"

Feel free to contact us if you have any other Windows related issue.

    Regards.

    hibernating/password

    Hello Rich,

One possible reason why your system keeps hibernating or goes to sleep is because of the power plan settings of your computer. To assist you with your concern regarding your PC hibernating, we recommend that you reconfigure the power plan settings by following
    the steps below:

    • Type Display on Cortana's search field and press
      Enter.
    • Select Power & sleep.
    • Under the Sleep option, click the drop down menu to set the number of minutes/hours you would like your PC to sleep/hibernate. We suggest that you select
Never if you do not want you system to hibernate.
    • Close all windows for the changes to take effect.

Let us know if you will need further assistance.
