    I had a problem with my spoolsv.exe and as I went to go check on it, it was in C:\Windows\System32, as it should be but I read that it should be 60-ish KB but mine was 781KB. It was taking anywhere from 20% all the way to 95% of my cpu and fluctating wildly and every time I kill it in task manager it would just return and keep eating cpu. So far I've been able to suspend it by squeezing it with a per-process cpu limiter called Battle Encoder Shirase ver. 1.7.8 all the way until it showed "suspended" in task manager. Could this be a virus? MSERT turned up nothing but this is wayy too wei

    :)

  2. Printing stopped with November upgrade

    Hey Prestonpdx,

    I would suggest you check if the print spooler is running. Start/Stop print spooler service. Follow the steps below.

    • Press Windows key + R, type services.msc
      and press Enter.

    • From the list, locate Print Spooler service.

    • Double click on the service and select Stop.

    • Restart the computer, repeat step 1&2.

    • Double click on the service and check if the service is started.
    Get back to us with the updated status, we’ll be glad to assist you.

    Thank you.

    spoolsv 'access denied' work around

    On occasion, a custom CAD/CAM program I wrote hangs the printer up. I read that the files waiting to be printed reside in "C:\Windows\System32\Spool\printers". I tried just deleting files in that folder programmatically, but found Windows locked
    one them. Apparently some Kernel Mode Driver deep in the bowels of Windows got indigestion! I got the idea to stop the spooler program called spoolsv.exe, but I get an "access denied" error using the code below. (For Each was looking for more than one instance,
    which I first thought may be the problem.) I decided to give the user access permission by right clicking on the spoolsv.exe file, but editing "Full Control" has been greyed out. Now I feel like a step child!

    Has anyone found a way to stop the spoolsv.exe programmatically so that I may delete the spooler files, and get my customer up and running without Stopping spoolsv.exe in Services.msc, drilling down folder to delete files, and finally, restarting the computer?

    Private Sub BtnKill_Click_1(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles BtnKill.Click
    Dim p As System.Diagnostics.Process

    Try

    For Each p In System.Diagnostics.Process.GetProcesses()

    Dim sProcess As String = "spoolsv"

    If p.ProcessName = sProcess Then

    'p.Kill()

    'p.Close()

    'p.U (lol)

    MsgBox("spooler service is stopped.")

    End If

    Next

    Catch ex As Exception

    MsgBox(ex.ToString)

    End Try
    End Sub

    Spoolsv.exe seems a bit too large and would not stop after printing, uses massive amounts...

    Why does my HTC Surround use such massive amounts of data, even though we're on wi-fi?

    Any updates? Does anyone have any other suggestions about this? Or are we stuck with a phone that sends massive amounts of data for no apparent reason (and no unlimited data plan)?

    Hello?
