I suggest you to follow the steps provided below to change the screen resolution.

Method 1: Change display resolution.

• Right click on desktop.
• Select Display settings.
• Click on Advance display settings.
• Under resolution drop down, you can select the option 1920x1080.

Method 2: Update drivers.

I suggest you to update graphic drivers and check if it helps. Follow the steps given below.

• Press Windows key + X key and click on
  Device manager.
• Search for Display Adapters.
• Right-click on the graphics
  card and click on Update driver software.

Screen too Big!

Ok, this is a simple fix, well as you know... you CANNOT see the windows square icon on the bottom left of your tv, but just go all the way to the far left corner of your tv and right click, then the list window appears but barely.
Click on Control Panel
Under Appearance and Personalization click on Adjust screen resolution
Now click on Multiple Displays:
Select "Duplicate these Displays"
Click Apply at the bottom of page.
YOUR DONE

I have nokia 2730 classic, the clock on the main screen appears in the centre and relatively big. I want a smaller clock to be displayed on the upper right of the main screen, just like it does on the other screens. I have tried everything possible from
display settings to time and date settings, nothing helped. Does this require any software update?
