    Hey all, hope everyone is doing alright. I have an HP Envy 17 old but great computer and I ran into some issues recently caused by a virus that "mysteriously" came in after uninstalling Norton AV. I tried restoring to previous times but nothing fixed the issue, so I had to reset the device losing everything. The reset reinstalled windows to the last known working version... so when it finished the first thing I did was check for updates and install them. Once they finished, it said the computer needed to restart, so I did. 45 minutes of waiting and the updates were at 88%. Suddenly it said

    CCleaner blocking use of restore point.

    I'm receiving the following message from Windows 10 in the Update and Security menu. It says "This Option is no longer available because your PC upgraded more then 10 days ago."

    Are you suggesting that I turn off my virus software (Kaspersky) and then the "blocked" restore point will suddenly appear?

    CCleaner blocking use of restore point.

    That message appears if your trying to return to a previous version of Windows 10 after an upgrade & it's been 10 days since it was done. System restore is different. Can you clarify which you are trying to do?
    No by disabling your av software it won't make the restore point appear. When you use system restore there's an option to show more restore points however these are usually older than the ones on show.

    the restore point

    Hi Alvaro,

    You can save the state of the operating system and your own files by
    creating a restore point, so that if future changes cause a problem, you can
    return them
    to previous versions and settings.

    We suggest that you check the article below and follow the
    guidelines and steps under Restore from a system restore point.
