Windows 10: Black/White Contrast Windows 10 Search Bar Glitch

I've noticed since around last week that my search bar in the bottom right looks like this. When I hover my mouse over it, the search bar changes back to what it normally looks like, but then switches back when I move my mouse off of it. I am assuming this is just a glitch, and I'm wondering how I can fix it. Not a major problem, but it's super annoying.

Search Bar turned white on Windows 10 version 1709

For some reason my search bar went white. I googled this & seems other having issue also & tried this but works & goes back to grey till u type in search bar then goes white again.

1. Settings - Time & language - Region & language. Change your country to Gabon.
2. Sign out.
3. Sign back in. The Cortana search box will be gone as Cortana is not available in Gabon.
4. Go back into Settings and change your country back to the proper one. The Cortana search box will come back, but now it'll be black instead of white.
   
   This does not work on 1709.

Hi Pam,

There could be a combination of hotkey that has triggered your monitor to display in black and white. We'd like to know though if you've made any changes prior to this issue. Also, what's the build and version of your Windows 10?

To know the build and version of Windows 10, press the Windows key +
R and type winver.

Turning off the high contrast option should turn your computer's colors back into normal. Kindly follow these steps to disable it:

• Type high contrast on the Search bar on your Taskbar.
• Select High contrast settings to open its settings window.
• Under the High contrast tab, click the drop-down and select None.
• Click Apply and close the window.

This is just one of the workarounds to fix this issue.

File Explorer Selective High Contrast mode

Hello Kacson, my name is Paul one of the community experts. I am sorry that you are having issues with your visual settings that is stuck in High Contrast Mode.

Kindly try these steps to check if it can resolve the issue.

Way 1: Turn High Contrast off via keyboard shortcut.

Press left Shift+left Alt+Print Screen to instantly turn it off.

Way 2: Turn off High Contrast through changing the theme.

Step 1: Enter theme in the search box and click Change the theme in the result.

Step 2: Choose a new theme from the offered themes excluding the High Contrast themes.

Way 3: Turn High Contrast off in High contrast settings.

Step 1: Type high contrast in the search box and tap High contrast settings in the result.

Step 2: Click the High Contrast theme (i.e. High Contrast #1, High Contrast #2, High Contrast Black or High Contrast White), choose None in the pop-up list and then hit Apply.
