Windows 10: How to get rid off the new taskbar feed in Windows 10?

After the latest Win10 update there is kind of a newsfeed on the right side of the taskbar. There are no buttons to close it or remove it. How can we get rid of it?

Edge browser no longer displays the news feed

I am replying to the above advice. Been there, done that. In fact, I did that set of steps before I ever asked for help here. Does anyone have any other suggestions? It is very inconvenient to have no taskbar.

How do i get rid of the news feed in the search field?

Just clicking in the "Type here to search" field in the taskbar, before i've even started typing what i'm looking for, it displays a news feed. Does anyone know how i can disable the news feed? I like the search in the taskbar, it's the unwanted intrusion
of headlines that i'd like to get rid of.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
