Windows 10: Microsoft flight simulator X Steam addition

I installed FS on my new PC 5 months ago and initially was able to play it. I have not played it for a couple of months, but when I tried over the last couple of nights, I have been unable do any of the missions.I can open up the program, I can get to the missions screen, I can get to the briefing screen but when I click the fly mission button all I get is a black screen and the dreaded wheel of death, although the default music still plays. The only way I can get out of the program is using task manager and sign out end task does not work.I have run the validate files option and uninstalled

I suggest you to completely uninstall Microsoft Flight Simulator and check.

Refer the steps below to uninstall.

• Press “Windows key + X”, select Control panel.
• Open programs and features.
• In the list of installed programs, select Microsoft Flight Simulator, and then click
  Remove.

Note: If you have earlier versions of Flight Simulator in the list of installed programs, you will have to remove them in addition to Flight Simulator.



Reinstall the Flight Simulator.

Can the Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition be downloaded from any site other than Steam? As in, from the Microsoft site?

Follow the steps below on how to install Microsoft flight simulator xin compatibility mode:

1. Download the Microsoft flight simulator xfrom the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

2. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.

3. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

4. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.

5. Let the Microsoft flight simulator xinstall and then check the functionality.
