    Laptop make clicking sound after reinstalling windows


    Before, I make a clean reinstall of windows to my ssd 256 gb which is Adata SX8200 pro, before i bought the ssd, i used my 1tb hdd as the C drive, but i uninstall everything and make clean install windows on my ssd, but right after installing the windows to my ssd, my laptop start making clicking sound whenever i open program or playing games, and when it clicks, my laptop freeze for a moment and if i playing games at that time the game will freeze, i thought it is my hdd problem because when i google it, it says possible of HDD death or something like that, but i've checked my hdd stats with

    I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps.

    Method 1

    I suggest you to run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter. Follow these steps to run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter:

    • Press Windows key + X and select Control Panel.
    • Select Troubleshooting.
    • Select View all on the top left corner.
    • Click Hardware and Devices.
    • Follow the on-screen instruction to run the troubleshooter.
    Method 2: Uninstall and reinstall the Sound driver

    I suggest you to try uninstall the Sound drivers check if it works for you.
    Follow the steps to uninstall the Sound drivers:

    • Press Windows Key + X key and click Device Manager.
    • Expand ‘Sound, Video and Game Controllers.
    • Right-click on the Audio devices listed and click on ‘Uninstall’.
    • Select the option to Delete driver software.
    • Restart the computer after its uninstalled.
    Try to access the device manufacturer's website and download and install the latest chipset and sound drivers.

    Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

    I would suggest you follow the steps below:

    Update all your audio drivers.

    Follow the steps to update the audio drivers:


    • Press Windows key + R key. Type "devmgmt.msc" and click Enter.

    • Expand the Sound, Video and game controllers.

    • Double-click on the Sound card.

    • In Properties, go to Drivers Tab and click on Update.

    • Restart the computer and check.
    If this does not work you might have to Uninstall and then reinstall your drivers in compatibility mode.

    Follow the steps to uninstall and reinstall the driver.


    • Press Windows key + R key. Type "devmgmt.msc" and click Enter.

    • Expand the Sound, Video and game controllers.

    • Double-click on the Sound card.

    • In Properties, go to Drivers Tab and click on Uninstall.

    • Reinstall your audio driver from Manufacturer's Website in Compatibility mode.

    • Restart your system

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    This issue could be due to sound drivers may not be supporting.

    I suggest you to run the hardware and sound troubleshooter
    and check if it helps.


    • Type “Troubleshoot” without quotes in search and click on
      Troubleshooting in the results displayed on the left side of the screen.

    • In the new window, click
      Hardware and Sound
      .

    • In the list of options, click on
      Hardware and Devices.

    • Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

    I also suggest you to update the sound drivers and check.

    • Press Windows Key + X key.
    • Click on Device Manager.
    • Right click on drivers and select the option to Update driver software.
    • Restart the computer after its uninstalled.
    If the issue still persists, I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Sound drivers.

    Follow the steps to uninstall the Sound drivers:

    • Press Windows Key + X key.
    • Click on Device Manager.
    • Right-click on the Sound drivers listed and click on ‘Uninstall’.
    • Select the option to Delete driver software.
    • Restart the computer after its uninstalled.
    Now try to download the sound drivers from manufacturing website and check.
