Clicking Start or Date/Time does nothing - Windows 10

Hi, clicking the Start icon does nothing, pressing the Windows Key does nothing, and clicking on date/time in the opposite corner does not bring up the calendar (does nothing). I've tried: Everything HereGetting latest Windows updatesTrying to restore CortanaRestarting Windows ExplorerRegedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WpnUserService - Modifying the Start DWord to 4Sfc /scannow [Found issues and fixed them = now says: Windows did not find any integrity violations]DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealthGet-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}Creating a new administrator account in Windows, logging in there - problem still persists. And several other things recommended. Please help thanks.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

  3. Date and Time

    Hi Roman,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

I understand your inconvenience. We will assist you with it.

I suggest you to change the Date and Time format from Control Panel and check. Also select the time zone as UTC-5.00 Eastern Time.

After changing the setting, I suggest you to set “Windows Time” service as automatic. Follow the steps provided below.

    • Press Windows logo Key + R key.
    • Type services.msc
    • Right click on Windows Time service.
    • Select Properties.
    • Under startup type drop down, change it to Automatic.
    • Click on Apply button and OK button.
    Restart your computer and check.

Hope this information is helpful. For any further query, feel free to contact us.

    Thank you.

Clicking Start or Date/Time does nothing - Windows 10

    Date/Time

Hi Allison, thanks for your question. I'm Graeme, a fellow Microsoft user.

Could I get you to try changing your time zone to another country, then changing it back to your own? This might reset the date and time settings.

    Here are the steps:

    - Click Start and type "date".

    - Click on Date & Time settings

    - Change your timezone to something else, then close the settings app. Open it to the same place again, then change your timezone back to what it should be.

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Windows Time service.

    - Click Start and type "services.msc".

    - Click the first result.

    - Find Windows Time in the list, right-click it and click Restart.

Let me know how you go after trying these steps! Thanks!
