    Windows 10 automatically change Clipboard content if the Clipboard history has been turned off


    This error has been existing for 5 years.Precedure to reproduce the error:1 Using "Ctrl + C" to copy a URL, for example https://www.microsoft.com, into Clipboard without its history turned on.2 Using "Ctrl + V" to paste the Clipboard content, https://www.microsoft.com, to the file name of a text file being created in Windows Explorer. Windows Explorer will automatically remove invalid characters such as ":" and "/", and make the file name "httpswww.microsoft.com.txt". By the way, Windows Explorer also change the Clipboard content to "httpswww.microsoft.com.txt", which is s

    How can I find my clipboard history?!

    As Allan Mej mentioned Clipboard content is overwritten.

    However, last year I think, MS released a new feature in Win 10 where multiple items can be saved in Clipboard history but one needs to turn it on first.

    Go to Settings -> System -> (Scroll down to) Clipboard -> then turn "Clipboard history" on.

    To view "Clipboard history" contents, press the Windows key + V.
