Hide user name from login screen (no typing the name)?

I know that you can disable the "pre-typing" of the user name on the lock screen, so that it looks like this: In that case you have to type both the user name and the password for unlocking. But what I want is to not have to type the user name, but just hide it, so that it looks like this: In this case, you'd just type the password to get in, but the user name would not be visible. It would also be OK if the actual user name was replaced with something else, like "User" or a random set of characters. Let me know on the off chance that something like this is possible.

    :)

Hide other user name from login screen

I have my user account which is connected with ms account which shows my email along with my user name on login screen. I made one more admin account without ms account and made it a default user with password. Now on login screen on left side both my accounts show up. Is there way to hide my original account from this login screen because I do not want anyone sitting with me could know my email as this account shows my email along with user name.

  3. Change the user name in Windows 10

    Hi Rick,

Thank you for writing us back.

Are both the accounts are admin account?

I would suggest you to go through the below steps:

Steps: To determine the user account type:

    • Login to any account.

    • Press Windows key+X.

    • Click on Control Panel.

    • Click on User accounts.

    • Your user account will show and below that it will show your local account or admin account.

    • Once you know about the account type.

    • You can go to user account and change the name.

    • Press Windows key+R.

    • Type netplwiz and press enter.

    • Select the account and click on properties.

    • Change the user name and click on apply and then ok and one more time click on ok on the main screen.

    • Reboot the computer and check if it helps

I hope this helps. Please post back with the status of the issue and we will be glad to assist you further.
