    Flight Simulator will not reinstall after hanging during update


    After not having used Flight Simulator 2020 for 4-5 months, I tried restarting it. Not unsurprisingly, it tried to upgrade itself. It appears to complete the process 650MB+ download, progress bar 100%, the system hung. The task manager showed no activity - disk, cpu, or network. It remained this way for 10 or so minutes before I restarted the machine. Upon restart, the game will not start nor install despite Windows Store indicating the I own the game all three tiers. Deleting the installed directory, cleaning the registry, and rebooting several times did nothing to help the problem. I fol

    Microsoft Flight Simulator issue after Windows 10 Upgrade

    Hi Rahul,



    Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.



    I suggest you to completely uninstall Microsoft Flight Simulator and check.

    Refer the steps below to uninstall.

    • Press “Windows key + X”, select Control panel.
    • Open programs and features.
    • In the list of installed programs, select Microsoft Flight Simulator, and then click
      Remove.


    Note: If you have earlier versions of Flight Simulator in the list of installed programs, you will have to remove them in addition to Flight Simulator.



    Reinstall the Flight Simulator.



    Please reply to us if the issue still persist.

    How do I reinstall Microsoft Flight Simulator X

    Hello RonCollinsYE,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community. I'm and I am here to help you.

    Follow the steps to uninstall Flight Simulator X:

    a. Click Start, open C:\ and open Program Files folder.

    b. Search for the Flight Simulator folder and open the folder.

    c. Double click on the Uninstall icon and follow the steps to uninstall Flight Simulator X.

    Then you have to download it again.

    If the steps provided did not help, then it would be better to contact Flight Simulator X support for further assistance.
