New 7 Pro 64 installation can't download: site certificates?

Today, I took out an old two-disk laptop that's been in a drawer since it stopped working about 7 years ago, installed an old SSD where I had long ago removed its main disk, whipped out one of my original Pro 64 SP1 installation CDs, and successfully installed the OS. It even got into my home wi-fi without trouble. And I got it authenticated and activated by phone. But when I tried to update the Defender base, it gave me "invalid site certificate" messages. Same for an attempt to get Malwarebytes Free, and an attempt to get Windows Update to work. It searched for a bit, and then said something about redirection to a site whose certificate was invalid. It was fun, but it's going nowhere if I can't access downloads. Anybody know what the problem might be? Is there a fix?

    :)

    reinstall windows 7 64 pro

As I now have my new Windows 10 pre installed on a new pc. I want to have my Windows 7 with a new re install. Otherwise kind of wipe it clean and re install. Can I download a fresh copy of my Windows 7 pro 64 bit ? What will be the steps to use? Do I
use my codes or numbers on the tags? Since I bought the machine windows 7 64 pro pre-installed; Had my version needed to be registered with Microsoft?

If I receive a new Windows 7 which I believe is downloaded; will I have enough time to install updates for it?
