Windows 10: Clean Install of Windows 10 After UEFI bios Update?

Been Experiencing Slow File Transfers with USB 3.2 Gen 1 Ports, Contacted Gigabyte esupport, there response was if after updating F5D Uefi bios a clean install wasn't done, We suggest you do that, and update all the drivers, and supposely might make USB file transfers work better. Is that True or False? Or a waste of my time, as reinstalling everything and copying data back surely would take a bit of time i would think

Trouble installing windows 7 on RAID in UEFI

As the title says, I'm trying to install Windows on a RAID array in uefi on my Maximus V Formula. When using legacy ROM I can install just fine but I go into CSM and change settings to UEFI only, I can build the array in the UEFI Raid driver (IRST tab in "BIOS") but the array does not show up in the boot menu and when I try to install windows (boot from UEFI DVD drive), The drive does not show up in the Windows install. The next thing I tried was to enable UEFI and legacy oprom in CSM, boot from UEFI DVD drive and install to the RAID array (probably detected by legacy oprom) and it will install. After first reboot, Windows Boot manager will show up as an option in the BIOS boot menu so I set that as first boot device and reboot. I will get to the starting windows screen and then BSOD (too quick to get codes) The last thing I tried was Changing to legacy mode and installing windows to a different drive. once installed, I initialized the Raid array as GPT and rebooted, changed csm back to UEFI only but they RAID array still doesn't show in the boot device list so I repeated the earlier process hoping that It might work because I had initialized as GPT but it still BSODs on starting windows screen. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I think you were on track with your first try. Windows installer probably needs the RAID driver in order to detect it on install.

 

***G3258 Owners*** - Windows 10 will not install/boot when overclocked

I have not updated my bios yet, it is still the year 2014 bios. I have not run into major issues for my upgrade thus far. My windows 8.1 install is a uefi install so my windows 10 upgrade is a uefi boot rather than legacy bios, not sure if that would affect anything.


I am not certain what could be the issue it could be from which operating system you are updating from such as windows 7 or 8.1. Perhaps a clean install of windows 10 can eliminate that if that were the problem.
If a clean install does not work the problem could be an intel microcode update that have crippled the overclocking. Is your board a Z-series board? I heard concern before about people having that intel may take away the functionality overclock on non-over clocking boards which are not intended to be overclock with an update before. I am not sure if that is the case here.
