    Photos App Displays Images with Grey Borders IN FULLSCREEN


    The Photos App has started to display photos with a grey border around them WHEN IN FULLSCREEN MODE.How can I fix this? I have already tried Repair, Reset, Uninstall with Powershell and Reinstalling. Yet there are grey borders in fullscreen. Even when zooming in fullscreen.

    You can use feedback to suggest changes, but I assure you that this is exactly what the Photos app is supposed to show photos as.

    You can use a third party program like infranview:

    But in the end, the user remembered found that the gray border does not persist outside of photos. Open the photo in Paint and it will be the same size as it is in Photos, just without the border. The border is purely aesthetic and does not have any effect
    on the photo.

    Another user found that the problem was not actually a problem but that they mis-remembered how it looked outside of fullscreen.

    At this current moment, I do not believe there is a setting or fix for this other than changing photo apps or feedback hub.

    This looks like more of a design choice about how to display picture.

    Quote - "It seems to be due to Microsoft's decision to add a blank line between the image and the taskbar. Naturally this makes the image smaller but it does look better to not have the taskbar immediately adjacent to the image.

    Having added a blank line underneath the photo, it seems only logical to do the same at the sides. Again this simply looks better. And when zooming, that new boundary is (correctly) not exceeded.

    I think MS felt this wouldn't be an issue because we can always choose to go fullscreen. Not everyone agrees with that but we'd need to make a pretty strong case to get them to reverse a design decision. "
