Need a device to hook to 2.4ghz only...

This isn't really Windows 10 related. Moderators...if I'm breaking some rules, feel free to lock this thread. I have a smart lock that only hooks to 2.4ghz networks. I have a mesh network that handles both 5 and 2.4. It often hooks up fine. But recently for some reason, it is disconnecting a lot. When I spoke to their support, for now I need a workaround: set up a DHCP address for it that only uses 2.4. Of course, that isn't possible on the mesh system I have. They said the alternative is to get a 2.4 lan extender, and do the DHCP there. I'm not sure how I would configure it to just pull an address from the extender. Seems to me it would take an address from whichever router/extender responded first. Any thoughts?

    :)

  2. Hooking 2 computers together

    Hello James,

You may network your computers, but not using the USB ports. What you can do is set up HomeGroup in Windows 10. HomeGroup is a network sharing feature.

Note: To make sure you will be able to configure everything correctly, shut down all other the computers on the network, leaving only the computer you'll use to create the new HomeGroup turned on.

Additionally, you want to make sure all your devices are running Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6). Otherwise, you won't be able to join any computers to HomeGroup. See the steps below to set your devices to TCP/IPv6:

    • Press Windows key + X > Click Network Connections.
    • Right-click the network adapter you use to connect to the internet > Select
      Properties
      .
    • Select Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) option to put a check on the box on its left.
    • Click OK.

To create a HomeGroup on Windows 10, follow these steps:

    • Type HomeGroup and press Enter.
    • Click Create a homegroup > Next.
    • Choose what to share on the network > Next.
    • Click Finish.

Note: You'll be presented with a HomeGroup password, which is needed to allow other computers to access files and printers. Write down or click the link to print the password.

Let us know what happens after following the suggested troubleshooting steps.

Follow either of these steps to fix the issue with the Active window hiding behind.

    2. Select or click Ease of Access.
    3. Click or tap onEase of Access Centre.
    4. Click on Make the Mouse Easier to Use was uncheck Activate Window by hovering over it with the mouse.
    5. Check if issue is resolved.
    Method 2:
I would suggest you to completely uninstall the touchpad driver and reinstall it. Kindly follow the below given steps.

    1. Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.
    2. In the list of devices, you should see the touchpad drivers.
    3. Right click on the device and then select "Uninstall".
    4. In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted.
    5. In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes” option. This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.
