Upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Pro failed error 0x80070490

I selected Settings/Update and Security/Activation/Go to Store and Buy. I approved payment. Then selected install. But after several minutes got message "Windows upgrade failed error code 0x80070490". Problem may be that I might not have been logged into my Microsoft account at the time as I was asked to ensure all files were saved so I closed most windows before selecting install.I have an email from Microsoft confirming my purchase although it does not include any product ID/ licence number. I cannot find the error message listed anywhere. What should I do?

    :)

  2. Windows 10 upgrade error 80240054 80240020 8007002C 80246007

I used iso file to upgrade multiple pc. 1 out of 7 PC fail to upgrade

the pc is lenovo G40-45 Windows 8.1 x64 with Bing UEFI/GPT secure boot. Windows 10 setup only run 24% during copying files.

these are event viewer created after upgrade failure:

    • Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80240054: Upgrade to Windows 10 Home Single Language.
    • Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80240020: Upgrade to Windows 10 Home Single Language.
    • Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070652: Upgrade to Windows 10 Home Single Language.
I have done these steps without luck:

    • neither sfc & chkdsk in normal nor safemode solved the problems
    • What this error means is, your Windows 10 installation folder is unfinished and/or corrupted. Now, how do you fix that?
      • Go into "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" and delete everything in that folder.
      • Now, run the command prompt as an administrator. Type in "wuauclt.exe /updatenow".
      • Go to your Control Panel > Windows Update and your Windows 10 should start re-downloading from scratch, hopefully without flaws this time.
    • I follow these steps without luck:
      • Browse to "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" and delete the contents of the folder.
      • 'net stop wuauserv' hit enter
      • 'net stop bits' hit enter
      • Press Windows key + X > Click Command Prompt (Admin) then type "wuauclt.exe /updatenow".
      • Hit Enter
      • Open Control Panel > Windows Update and Windows 10 should begin downloading..
      • Press Windows key + X
      • Click Command Prompt (Admin)
      • Type in at the prompt OR Copy and Paste these one at a time : (Hit enter after each)
      • net stop wuauserv
      • net stop bits
      • net stop cryptsvc
      • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
      • or
      • DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:wim:E:\sources\install.wim:1 /limitaccess
    • "C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual BCD\StartUpRepair.exe" -> fail
    • I follow these steps without luck:
      • bootrec /rebuildbcd
      • bootrec /fixmbr
      • bootrec /fixboot
    what should I do now?

    Windows 10 Update Error 0x80070490

New apps also fail to install for me in the Windows Store with the error code 0x80070490 if the app "Save Location" is not my C drive. I've tried all of the suggested solutions and none of them work for me. The apps do install if it gets saved to my C drive
but that isn't ideal because it is running low on disk space. The error happened when I tried my D and E drives.

Running Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview Build 14352

Upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Pro failed error 0x80070490

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:
    • Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
    • Try different keyboard or mouse.
    • Restart computer, repeatedly.
    • Google for related issues.
    • Update Bios, because why not.
    • Create boot media and revert to windows 7.
The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.
