    I can't install Windows 10 on an old Dell T3610


    Hi!So I received an old T3610 Dell Precision Workstation from my girlfriend's cousin. It came with a blank SSD to be able to install a new OS. I also received Windows 10 Home Installation Dvd and product key from a friend who had an extra on hand that she didn't need. Upon trying to install it, I entered the product key and it wouldn't accept it. I contacted Dell Support and they told me that the PC originally came with Windows 7 and 8 OEM. At this point, is it even possible to install Windows 10? If I had to install the earlier versions, how would I go about that? Any and all help is welcome!

    If you go into BIOS (F2 on the Dell Logo at startup), is your BIOS Legacy or UEFI?

    You mention you re-installed Windows 7, did you create the bootable Windows 10 USB media on Windows 7?

    Have you tried to just clean install Windows 10 on that PC, rather than installing Windows 7 first, then upgrading to Windows 10?

    Windows 10 Won't Restart

    I ended up re-installing Windows 10 with the reset option (delete all old files), and everything works great now. I don't know if it's the only solution, but it suggests that it wasn't a hardware issue. I'm running a Dell Precision T3610 workstation.
