Windows 10: Power off and Hibernate issue

Hi all. I'm having the following issue when I turn off my computer 1 If I use the hibernate option, the system immediately shutdown without asking to close any open file. At a later resume, the system shows a blue screen showing an issue with the previous shutdown, and all the applications active before hibernate were closed as if a shutdown were performed. 2 If I use the shutdown option, the system immediately shutdown without asking to close any open file. It starts well, but in the event viewer, there is a critical error Kernel-Power 41 "the system reboots without cleanly shutti

1. What is the make and model of the computer?
   
2. What is the specific error code/message you have received?
   
3. Which version of Windows is installed on your device?

I would suggest you to follow the methods mentioned below.



Method 1

Run the Power Troubleshooter

1. Open Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
   
2. Under Troubleshoot, select the
   Power option.
   
3. Click on Run the troubleshooter button.
   
4. Continue with the onscreen prompts and check the status of the issue.
   

Method 2

Disable Fast Startup

1. Open Control Panel > Hardware and Sound >
   Power Options.
   
2. On the left pane, click the Choose what the power buttons do link.
   
3. Click the Change settings that are currently unavailable link.
   
4. Under “Shutdown settings,” uncheck the Turn on fast startup option.
   
5. Click the Save Changes button.
   
6. Restart your computer and then try to Hibernate again.
   

Method 3

Reset power plan to default

1. Click on Start, type in cmd
   > Right click and ‘Run as administrator’.
   
2. Type the following command to reset your power plan and press
   Enter.
   
   powercfg –restoredefaultschemes
   
3. Restart the device and check the status of the issue.
   

Method 4

Disable and re-enable hibernation

Refer the article How to disable and re-enable
hibernation on a computer that is running Windows for the steps.

Windows 10 Hibernate problems

I suggest you to follow the methods provided below and check if it helps.

I suggest you to run the Power troubleshooter by following the steps below and check if for any power components change status.

• Press Windows logo key on the keyboard, type troubleshooting and select the top most search result.
• Click on View All from the left side panel of the window.
• Select Power from the options, click on Advanced option and check Apply repairs automatically option.
• Follow the on screen instructions and wait for the troubleshooting to complete.
• Check for the missing/corrupted power component status of the troubleshooter, close the window and check if the issue is resolved.
