Windows 10: Windows 10 Security Update

A few days ago, I allowed Microsoft to install a security update to my Windows 10 laptop. After the update, the L2TP connection to my work VPN failed. After researching a bit, I found this to be a common problem with update KB5009543. I uninstalled the update, which fixed the VPN connection problem. Then today, without my permission, Microsoft reinstalled the same update producing the same problem again. Why do they knowingly recreate a problem I spent 2 hours remedying and another half hour today? I selected the 7-day Pause Updates option this time, but that doesn't solve the problem. Mic

Windows 10 Update

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.

Windows 7 Ultimate (64) Security updates not installing.

I have been having problems in installing the updates that I have listed below. For each update I attempted to install them individually but they would not install. I also downloaded the SURT 6.1 KB947821 v27. The problem has been going on now for about 2 months. (whenever the issue with the updates comes to mind I am never near my pc). Thank you in advance.

Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.
