Convert Device ID to Hostname or Possibly IP Address

Hello. Under About your PC I can find a workstation's Device ID. I was wondering if only presented with the Device ID of a workstation, can it somehow be converted to hostname, IP address, or MAC Address? Thanks.

Problems with network converting hostname to ip address

We are talking about two different network cards and drivers. They both have the same problem. After a reboot the browsers work fine. The next day firefox and chrome are very slow to open a web page. Edge will open the same web page very fast. When firefox starts to open the web page it displays looking up hostname. Isn't the same code that converts the hosname to and ip address used by all browsers? If so why is edge fast and firefox and chrome are slow?
It is difficult to do a clean boot and see if a startup service is causing the problem when it could take overnight for the problem to show up.

Set TCP/IP hostname on e61, 'hosts file' equivalent?

I use my e61 over wlan on my home network. It appears that the e61 does not set a 'hostname', and i can't find a way to manually configure a 'hostname' (as I can on every other IP device I have).

Is it possible to set a 'hostname' on the e61? I hate having devices on my network that have addresses but no names.

Lastly my home network has a number of devices (cameras, printers, home control) with static IP addresses. I don't currently run a DNS server so these addresses are looked up on the PC in a hosts file (and netinfo for my Macs).

Is there a hosts file or equivalent on the e61.

    Regards,

    --Kip

    Network Tools 2

    Suggestions !!!

Can we get the intranet scan to do the following:
    1) List IP Address in numerical order
    2) List IP Addresses that are not in use, perhaps denoted by a hostname of "--------"
    3) Enter a hostname of "Unknown" for IP Addresses that are found but not Windows devices.

You didn't think you were done with NetTool yet, did you? *Stick Out Tongue Convert Device ID to Hostname or Possibly IP Address :p

Edit: I also forgot to mention that if you select a specific address (say 10.10.10.1) and it find a machine, it outputs the information. If you then select another address (say 10.10.10.2) which is not in use, the original info from the first address does not get cleared from the output pane.
