    SysMain getting worse- using more and more CPU without stopping


    Since my post last week, SysMain has gotten worse. Now, whenever my computer is on, SysMain will constantly eat CPU without stopping whatsoever. I know this isn’t normal.I get that the ‘best solution’ is to turn it off but I feel like doing that could either break my Windows installation or significantly decrease my PC’s performance.This is driving me insane. Here is a video which documents SysMain’s activityWhat do I do?? Turning it off could make things worse but what other options do I have??

    It's getting worse

    Thanks, Slice! This one gets printed. But I won't wait five hours for it to verify the files I have on this computer, since it's pretty much bare bones with Office 365 installed.

    High CPU on Runtime Broker, Service Host: SysMain and Disk Defragmenter.

    apparently the service host: disk defragmenter, runtime broker and service host: SysMain are using a lot of cpu on my laptop. i also have 6 runtime brokers. what do i do?

    I have not understood SysMain to be an internet specific related task, so what you observe is interesting.

    I am not suggesting you delete it : Enable or Disable SuperFetch in Windows

    What are you using to determine that SysMain is active or not? Are you saying SysMain service does not start until you connect to the internet?
