Windows 10: Moving windows10 licence to another hardware

I have a windows 10 licence running in my old PC. It is actually a windows 7 license that I choose to upgrade to windows 10. When I installed the windows to my new device it won't accept my product key. I login using the account but I still cannot have it activated. Is there a way to transfer the licence from my old machine to the new one? What should I do?

We suggest that you run the Hardware and Device Troubleshooter and check if there's any changes.

To run the troubleshooter, please follow the steps below:

• On the search bar, type Troubleshooting and hit Enter.
  
• Choose Hardware and Sound.
• Click on Hardware and Devices to run the Troubleshooter.

Let us know how it goes.

We would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to run hardware troubleshooter and let us know if that helps.

Type "Troubleshooting" in the
Windows Search bar and press Enter.

1. Click on "View All" in the top left corner.
2. This will display the list of troubleshooters which are built-in in the computer. You can click on Hardware and Devices from the list and you can run the troubleshooter.

Also I would suggest to check if there are any update pending with regard to drivers and to do so, please follow steps mentioned below.

1. Search for Device Manager in
   Windows search bar.
2. Click on Device Manager.
3. Check if there Yellow Exclamation Point in the list of drivers.

Make sure Windows is up to date.

Let's try to isolate issue. Are you trying to install a printer? The error is might be caused by a corruption on the printer's driver. We also suggest that you use the troubleshooter for the printer. Follow the steps below:

• Search for Troubleshooting using Cortana or Search bar on
  Start Menu.
• Click on Hardware and Sound.
• Click on Printer.
• Follow the on-screen instructions.
