Windows 10 Hostednetwork issues after most recent update 26/06/2022

I use a powerline adapter to get internet access to my external office through an ethernet cable into my desktop computer. A few months ago I set up a hostednetwork using 'netsh wlan hostednetwork' from command line so that my wireless equipment phone/tablet could also get access to the internet via my wired desktop. This setup was working fine until the most recent update to Windows 10 on the 26th of June. When I booted my PC up this morning 27th June and connected to the virtual network, my tablet and phone were able to connect to the internet without any issues. My PC was able to search

  2. New install Windows 10 (issue solved)

It's good that you're not experiencing any issues. Unfortunately many folks are, a quick Google search will show the same info im offering the OP.

    Heres a couple examples:

    Here

    Here

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update problems and complaints
    • Installation problems with the Fall Creators Update
    • Microsoft Edge problems with the Fall Creators Update
    • Drivers problems with the Fall Creators Update
    • Experience problems with the Fall Creators Update
keep in mind, as of recently, the FCU is installed on 5% of devices roughly.....

Unable to connect to a hostednetwork

I am using a Intel NUC that has Windows 8.1. I want to use VNC via a hostednetwork, to enable headless operations.

I have created a hostednetwork on the NUC using command line "netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=NetName key=12345678" command. This appears to work and the responses to the netsh wlan commands are as expected. The network shows as "started" on
the host computer from the "netsh wlan show hostednetwork".

I want to connect to the NUC hostednetwork from a Windows 10 computer. The hostednetwork shows up on the normal network list. If I try to connect by clicking on the list of wireless networks, it cannot connect to the network -- without ever asking for the
    password.

Next I tried using the "ControlPanel/Network&SharingCenter/Setup a wireless connection/Manually Connect To a Wireless Network". This lets me set up a wireless profile name (NetName) with a WPA2-Personal security key: 12345678. However, when I go back to
the standard list of networks and click on NetName, I get the same message:
    "Cant connect to this network".

Next I tried using the command line: "netsh wlan connect NetName". The response suggested that the command completed successfully. However, I could not ping the IP address: 192.168.173.1.

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
